Adventures in Eden-burg

Just got back from an amazing few days in the Scottish capital and I think I may have found my new favourite city. Edinburgh is a quaint city with all the charms of the countryside! From the cobblestone streets to its kind-hearted inhabitants, there is so much to love about this city. I spent the last couple of days roaming around the streets of Edinburgh with my boyfriend. Taking in the sights of this historical city and throwing in the odd shopping trip here and there.

The highlights of the trip were definitely the fist-sized (slight exaggeration) bee in our hotel room, the gorgeous castle, and the shops selling shortbread! Loved Edinburgh so much that I am considering spending a couple of years after med-school. It rivals Venice as my no. 2 favourite city...because Lagos will always be my no. 1!

American Apparel, Eat your heart out

I like American Apparel, don't get me wrong! But everything seems to costs an arm and leg except on rummage sales when its all under a tenner.
For a long time, I've been looking for a pocket skirt after spotting them in American Apparel and then on a few friends. But spending 25 to 30 pounds on a skirt was out of the question. I wanted something cheaper.
So while on a shopping trip today, i came across two lovely pocket skirts which i bought. feast your eyes....

Primark does Accessories...

Lola and I went into Primark the other day and couldn't believe how far this shop has come...Do you guys remember Primark 8 years ago? Exactly, you dont!

Primark used to be a place reserved for the elderly and the not so fashionable. But oh how things have changed... Being ashamed of having an Atmosphere or Secrets label has now become a thing of the past!

Here are some goodies we spotted at our most recent visit to the holy grail of budget shopping:

What We Wore...

This is the first edition of the 'what we wore' posts. Last night, we decided to ditch the revision books and head out in some pretty cute outfits....

We spent the day sorting out our stash of clothes and pulled these out from the back of our wardrobes.

purple top - primark, black skirt - H&M, grey dress - TKMaxx

The Summer Lust List

When summer comes round, i get so excited shopping. I love showing off everything im wearing and summer is perfect for that. So here i present everything that Fikki and i have on our wish list.

Lola's Lust List:

The perfect hareem pants?

whether you love it or hate it, the season welcomes the clog. Although the ones ive seen so far are far too over the top and adorned in every jewel possible, I found two pairs which i think are beautiful.

Kurt Geiger

This One Oh So Special Bag
Spotted on ASOS in their notsointeresting sale. Fikki said it looked like a moschino bag because of the detail on the front. Only £12, Sweet!

Fikki's Lust List:

Lace-up Shoe Boots
Forget clogs! This is the shoe trend of spring/summer 2010...Saw Kaya Scodelario(Effy from Skins) rocking these bad boys in the April edition of the ASOS magazine and I will be getting these once my student loan hits my bank account. The peep toe also calls for a pedicure!

Ultimate Lust
LOUBOUTINs!!! Every girl loves and wants them! I would love to believe that this year will be the year that someone takes note of my obsession with everything red soled but I strongly doubt it. My Ultimate Lust (requires capitals!)for 2010 is definitely the Christian Louboutin Bianca Slingback Shoes! I have been dropping hints everywhere in the hope that someone take pity on me and buy me these shoes. Its my birthday soon (well in 3 months) so who knows....

Crop till you drop!

For a while now, i have been considering going short and what better time than now to try something new. With spring here and summer coming up, its time for a 'cooler' look....

So Lola and I have decided to ditch the long hair and both try out some short styles. Lola is getting a bob and I decided to take the risk of going even shorter :-s

Back in '06 Ms Bossy (Kelis) showed us just how edgy and sexy short hair can be but it has taken the likes of Rihanna, Keri Hilson and Kanye's Ex Brooke Crittendon to convince me to rock a short style...

Cant wait to show you the new hair cut!!!

Ready, Set, Go...

Woohooo....its finally here!!!

Its taken a long time to get this blog up and running (mainly because of our laziness) but after a long late-night facebook and phone conference, we have finally done it!
I officially cannot wait to get addicted to having a blog and I hope you get addicted to reading it!

WELCOME TO PASTIME BLISS...The official blog from the amazing minds of Lola A. and Fikki O.

This is like your average blog but with a twist. Look forward to reading about stuff from the world of fashion, hair, beauty and music. But to show our mothers blessed us with brains, we plan to throw in the odd political rant.

Pastime bliss is our outlet to the world of blogging and we hope you enjoy it...
