Bruna Tenorio

Model Lust from the past...To say that I was in love with Bruna's striking face would be an understatement. After seeing this editorial shoot from Amica Italy, my obsession with this Brazilian goddess has been rekindled.

I See A Little Bit Of Sunshine....Maybe.

Exams are over (well not for Lola and most of the University of Manchester) and the summer is officially round the corner. So to celebrate the return of sunshine into our lives, we decided to head out to the shops so we could update our summer wardrobes...Think summer work placements and holidays in the sun...

Totally in love with Lola's dress from Primark (the holy grail). This dress is bang on trend with the Miu Miu inspiration. This brand seems to be everywhere on this blog lately. It like the whole world has gone Miu Miu crazy! The earrings and belt are vintage buys. The shoes were bought in a random shop in Manchester that we wouldn't have discovered without the help of our lovely house-mate.

The shirt and trousers were acquired during my 'post-exams pick-me-up shopping trip'. After spending hours thrifting in Manchester, I found this shirt in Retro Rehab, which is perfect for my hospital summer placement. All the buttons are at the back so putting it on is a bit of a nightmare but when a shirt is that cute, who cares?!? The trousers are from Zara and mixes the utility and hareem trends perfectly.

After seeing Lola's Primark peg leg trousers, I ran back to the shops and had to buy one for myself too. The paper bag waist and the beige colour make these trousers amazing for her summer placement in the Foreign Office. The blazer was acquired today from our housemate who was going to give it away to charity. Sorry Oxfam but this was just too cute to give away!

When I bought this outfit (dress and shoes from Primark) I was totally thinking of the sun so the sunshine had better make its way to Manchester quickly so I can wear this outfit whilst having a few drinks on the terrace of a bar.

Is Shopping An Addicttion?

So this week we have been shopping alot in preparation for the summer holidays and our much anticipated trip to turkey. To get away from revision once again, Laura from Little Room In The North and I went to the Vintage Threads summer sale which took place yesterday and today. Nice vintage sale, so many cheap stuff and very nice as well which you don't normally get around alot. The jewellery especially the necklaces were quite expensive though.

Best buy had to be a vintage Miu Miu bag i found at one of the stores. i love it so much :)

Also found an authenic (hopefully) 50's swimsuit. the material is a hard cotton rather than lycra and it has a corset like stretch material.

P.S Fikki and I have made our very first appearances. Click Me: I Know What You Wore This Summer is a blog by Victoria of Lily loves Lola and Gemma of Gem's Maquillage showcasing what different bloggers and readers wear this summer. cute blog, plus gives inspiration on outfits.

Brown Sugar

Its been a while since I blogged and even though I have an exam in less than 15 hours, I thought I should show you guys what we wore today. The sun decided to pay Manchester a visit during the last few days and we have loved every minute of it.

Bugged Out with Boys Noize!

This all night electro rave is one of the many reasons why Sankeys in Manchester has officially been voted the best club in the world. A couple nights ago, Lola and I ditched the revision books and headed out to Sankeys to witness an absolutely amazing set by Boys Noize.

We started the night off with a dash of Dubstep but spent the bulk of it raving hard to dance-floor monsters created by this German electro DJ.

Highlights from the night include: an arguement with a random girl whilst queueing for the toilet and skanking to 'Jeffer' with friends. Its a shame we missed out on a photo-op with the DJ...maybe next time! Another good night for the memory bank!

I lost my vote-ginity and all i got was this lousy hung parliament

Late I know, but we have been very busy.
On the 6th May, at 4pm or so, Fikki and I voted for the first time in a general election ( technically this was my second time voting having done so in the London Elections)
Having made ourselves feel extremely blonde by going to the wrong polling station (easy mistake to make, trust), we got to exercise those very important rights...

We would formally like to thank the Suffragettes, Martin Luther King Jr, Nelson Mandela... for fighting for the rights of people like me.

Eardrum Bangers

I present to you a small selection of the hard and heavy tunes that have been blasting out of my speakers this week.
I have been spending the last few days dancing around my bedroom when I should be studying hard for my exams. It's a shame that 'distraction by music' is not a valid excuse for failing!

These songs just put you in the mood for summer...Bring on June, Cider, Sun and Festivals! With holidays booked, the world cup just round the corner and several Festies in sight...its going to be a
MAD SUMMER!

So here are the tunes (in no particular order) that are keeping me sane until exams end...

1) Big Boi - Shutterbug
With the help of Scott Storch, Outkast is back. Big Boi brings something so fresh to the world of hip-hop with this record and I love it. Can't wait for his solo album ' Sir Luscious Left Foot: The Son of Chico Dusty' (I love the creativity of their album names!)

2) Subfocus ft Coco - Splash
I love the original and the dubstep remix by Rusko. Heard it on the Annie Mac show ages ago and had no clue who it was for about a week.

3) Rusko - Hold On (feat. Amber Coffman) (Sub Focus Remix)
Another Rusko and Subfocus collabo and it's as hot as I expected! The original in my opinion is not as good as this remix but it is still a tune.

4) Tinie Tempah ft Labyrinth - Frisky
After the success of 'Pass Out', it looks like there might be another number 1 record insight for this London Hottie

5) Duck Sauce - The Motion
In the words of Dizzee Rascal 'disco, disco, disco, disco'...cant wait to dance to this under the sun!

6) Chase & Status ft Dizzee Rascal - Heavy
Zane Lowe (radio 1) and MistaJam (1xtra) premiered this massive tune yesterday and i nearly fell off my chair. If you get a chance, you should definitely give this one a listen. All i can say is....TUUUUNNNEEE!

7) Gyptian ft Nicki Minaj - Hold Yuh
The hottest female in hip-hop gives us an island twist.

8) Boys Noize - Jeffer (Modeselektor remix)
After listening to 'Oi Oi Oi' too many times, I finally decided to give his new album a try and its now part of my spotify playlist. This remix is crazy! Cant wait to see him at Sankeys this Friday...expect to see crazy pictures of me and lola soon!

Beautiful Dresses Here, There and Everywhere

University Balls (aka prom...i hate that word) are always an experience. Everyone gets dolled up and spends more money than they can afford just to look good, even the guys! It was therefore the perfect opportunity for me to write about this.

It took quite a while to find a dress that I liked and after searching all over Manchester and London, Fikki and I came across this and I love it.

My Dress - Topshop £45
Necklace - New look £8
Shoes - Primark (i can't remember the price)

Its all White this season, pure, innocent white. In particular its all about the LWD. It has always taken the backseat to its black counterpart but now its time for this style to shine

However the LBD seems to always reign supreme no matter the season

The Others:

I particularly love this black and white dress with the red belt because she took an old dress and revamped it on her own :D If only i could show the before picture...

The Boys

All i seemed to concentrate on was the ties. I love it!

Top: Thomas Pink, Bottom: Christian Dior

All in all, a very successful night :)
