Surrounded By Odd Shaped Ballons

Shirt/Thrifted, Dress/Motel, Boots/Primark

Taken by Fikki at a house party last night. One of the rooms was filled with balloons so a picture was only necessary.

Been watching The Model Agency. Heard alot about this and a few people said it was really good so i decided to watch it while nursing a silly hangover. The show takes place in the offices of the UK modelling agency, Premier. It shows the founder and the bookers day to day dealings with booking models and the struggles with this. I found it a bit boring because they hardly ever showed any models and most of the show consisted the bookers talking and talking and talking. Although it was quite dull, i'm gonna watch the next episode. Might pick up, who knows.

Now back to all the work i've been neglecting all weekend.

He's one hot lady

Have I been living under a rock?!?

I just recently came across the gorgeous model that is Andrej Pejic and was astonished by the beauty! Like other models Andrej is of a towering height, has cheekbones to die for, and gorgeous sultry eyes. However what makes Andrej stand out from the rest is the fact Andrej is in fact a man.

Andrej's look puts a new meaning to the word androgynous. The Australian bred model has walked in both the men's and women's shows for androgyny maestro Jean Paul Gaultier. He is currently the face of Marc by Marc Jacobs and recently walked for Vivienne Westwood during London Fashion Week.

Now that I have discovered him, I am definitely a fan.

These images do not do this man enough justice. Check out the tumblr page:

From Day to Night

Last day in Blackburn and 5800+ essay completed so to celebrate I went out with some friends when I got back to Manchester. Couldn't decide what to wear out so ended up recycling the day time outfit :-D

Day time:
Minimal Jewellery, Rolled up sleeves, Hair tied back and Professionalism.
Top&Belt/Primark, Skirt/thrifted

Night time:
Leather, Jewellery overload, free curls and an epic smile!
Primark overload...exceptions are Skirt/Ark; Clock necklace/portobello market; leaf ring/ miss selfridge

I was actually going to wear my DIYDS leather shorts but opted for the leather skirt instead. I actually love this skirt. It looks great with everything. If you do not have one already, get down to your nearest shop asap!

'Carrie' on Miss Lively

Blake Lively rumoured to be the new Carrie Bradshaw
Could it be true?

I was on the bus today and peered over a girl's shoulder to read a snippet from this week's Grazia. To my utter surprise and excitement, I read that my favourite Gossip Girl fashionista, Blake Lively, is rumoured to be playing a young Carrie Bradshaw in a new prequel of SATC.

Gossip Girl is already seen by many as SATC for the younger generation. With a wardrobe stuffed with designer clothes and cocktails aplenty, there is little to doubt about this comparison between the two shows. So after seasons of playing the glamourous Serena Van der Woodsen, Blake Lively should not have a problem filling SJP's shoes.

As much as I love the idea of this prequel, I am a bit worried as to how it will affect the legacy of the series. For many fans, the last film was a huge disappointment and it would be a shame if this project further tarnished the SATC image. So fingers crossed that Blake delivers!

So what do you think? Could Blake replace SJP?

Quick Outfit Post: The Lecture

Hello!

Just a quick outfit post. This was taken after a lecture. Family law *Yawn*
Also been quite ill this week. Done nothing but go to lectures, sleep for hours and watch tv like a bum. It can be very annoying and i feel so couped up!

Decided to set myself a little challenge as well. There are so many clothes in my wardrobe and shoes which i never wear. My wardrobe is literally bursting. I wanted to chuck everything in a bag and give them away to a charity shop but i'm such a hoarder! Sooooo I've decided to adapt them in some way or another to try and wear a different item everyday. Let's hope this actually works. I need to save money for a massive summer holiday.

Thank You!

So we got a stylish blogger award from the beautiful Onyxsta from Bleurgh. Shes got great style so check her out.

Soooo
THE RULES-
7 Things you didn't know about me:-

I watch abit too much TV. Its unhealthy.
I'm in my final year of a Law degree!
I lived in Nigeria for 14 years.
I'm trying to go natural, its quite a fun process.
I love Indomie noodles abit too much and buy it by the box load. oh god!
I love all MGM technicolor films from the 40's and 50's
I'm too emotional and cry very easily, even when watching glee.

(NOMINATE 15 OTHERS) I am passing on this award to 15 other stylish and beautiful bloggers :) In no particular order:

My friend from London came up to Manchester for a long weekend and we decided to go to the Manchester art gallery which i had been meaning to take her to. Never had the chance to take a proper look in the gallery and this was a good opportunity. The painting i'm standing in front of is The Sirens and Odysseus by William Claude Duval. It potrays the scene in the Odyssey when Odysseus comes across the sirens and makes his men tie him to the mast of the ship so he could hear what they sounded like and Its just so beautiful. I think anyway....

BTW, Fikki is still in Blackburn right now but will be back on Thursday! yay!

Have a great week :)

BURN city!

Many thanks to Lola for keeping our blog alive with the past few posts.

I am currently posted outside Manchester in the not-so-quaint city of Blackburn.
I have been living in hospital accomodation, which is actually quite clean, for 2 weeks now and I am officially at the half way point.

Its been a sad 2 weeks being away from my housmates, friends and boyfriend. The initial hope was that this separation from the distractions of life would mean I would be able to concentrate on my degree. Unfortunately this has not quite happened and I still have 4000 words of my essay left to write. If only writing literature reviews was as easy as writing a blog post.

I decided to have a go at putting up a post today in an attempt to distract myself further from my sole purpose in burn city.

So with the help of my 5GB dongle, a stack of books and my handy 12mp camera phone (which still works after it made a visit to the toilet bowl) I managed to conjure up this delightful post of what I wore today. Its a shame I only wore it for 5 minutes before I had to wear scrubs (waste of an outfit).

Skort/Vintage, Top and Cardigan/Topshop, Belt/Zara, Bag/Aldo

PS: Dont you just hate parents who cannot control their brats. I was on the bus back from a neighbouring hospital and endured 30 minutes of constant noise from moaning, whining, crying kid. It made my ears bleed!

A Return To Normalcy...sort of

Finally my exams are over! That doesn't mean I'm still not busy, but its relatively quieter. Went to the cinema with friends and the boyfriend today to see The King's Speech. If you havent seen it yet, i urge you to do so. It tells the story of King George VI's speech problems before his impromptu accession to the throne. It is such an enjoyable drama which is beautifully written and performed. Plus Colin Firth plays the part very well!

To see this, i opted for a very casual outfit...

I love this necklace. Only £2 in the Topshop sale!

I have literally worn them to death in rain or shine! I love them abit too much and ithink i need a new pair...

Alsoooo, i was chosen as a book giver for World Book Night . On the 3rd of March, people like me armed with books go out and give them to random people. I chose to give away Half a Yellow Sun. It is one of my favourite books about the Nigerian Civil war and so is very close my heart. I'm so happy that i'm able to give copies away for free :)

Coming up to 100 followers! might do a cheeky little give away!
