The Travel Outfit

Another lovely sunny day, except I am spending most of it travelling.

Now on my way back to London for two weeks! Actually able to blog courtesy of Virgin's First Class Complementary Wifi. Although it took the whole two hours of my journey because it's so slow. Back in London for Easter break but also on Saturday, my aunty is getting married and I'm a bridesmaid. I love weddings, always so lovely especially in the spring. Should be a lovely day. But being a bridesmaid is actually stressful - wearing a dress that isn't your choice, shoes you absolutely hate, stuff you have to do. Hopefully this one isn't that stressful :)

Also, Fikki and I were tagged by Onyxtsa to share 10 things you don't know about me. We were tagged awhile back and we had that lazy blogging period so here goes. Doing this one myself.

1) I absolutely adore musicals from the 40's and 50's and have managed to stock up a good dvd collection. Give me anything with Gene Kelly, Fred Aistaire, Rita Hayworth, Ginger Rogers and I'm good!
2) I'm quite fussy about food and I hate desserts. Sweet food is definitely not my thing
3) I was born and lived in Nigeria for 13 years. During this time, I did a horrible three year stint in a Nigerian boarding school :( it was horrible and I most definitely did not learn anything. But I can say it made me the independent person I am today.
4) I hate wearing anything but studs. always have. I'm always scared that someone would rip them out lol
5) People think my 15 year old cousin and I are twins. So much for trying to look older and failing miserably.
6) I have a law degree and working on a masters in International Relations.
7) I love 9gag! it has me in stitches all the time and is good procrastination material.

Cant think of anything else :(

Spring's Here!

The weather is so much better now and the sun in finally shinning in Manchester! I was feeling really cooped up in the house so Laura from Little Room in the North and I decided to go to Whitworth art gallery. There was a really nice exhibition on Cotton as a Global Fabric. If anyone lives near, its worth seeing. Got to also try on some of the lovely clothes made for the exhibition. Also had some time for a Latte and the yummiest coffee and walnut cake mmmm

Jumper/H&M, Shirt/Primark, Skirt & Shoes/I don't even remember!

Wardrobe Rehab

It's been a while seen we have blogged! so sorry, been so busy with uni and all the looming deadlines. Back now to regular blogging. Just wanted to show you guys something I recently did. After Fikki and i moved in June, I thought i had got rid of clothes I didn't need to but it all kept piling up and I found myself going for familiar things in my wardrobe, ignoring all the nice stuff I had. So I did a massive clear-out of my wardrobe for the summer, getting rid of two bin bags worth of clothes! I used the wardrobe rehab guide on A Pair and a Spare's blog which was brought to my attention by Little Room in the North. Its an amazing if anyone feels they need to do this.

I had to be extremely strict with myself when getting rid of clothes. But it's quite hard when certain pieces become sentimental so i allowed myself to keep five sentimental items. The rest went to the charity clothes bin.

This technique really helps cause it points out clearly what your style is and ultimately focuses your shopping towards what actually suits you. This means when I go shopping I'm not just going to pick up everything trendy this season or the next as I tend to do. What's the point if I'm never going to wear it again. Also, I was able to see what I already have for this season's trends and where the gaps are. I don't have enough dresses!

So there's you have it, a great technique for a any bulging wardrobe. Mine is not so packed right now but i love it that way!
