What's more surprising than a surprise birthday party??? A surprise birthday party, on a random day, weeks before your actual birthday.
And that's exactly what I got from the Boy and my closest friends...
It was the Boy's last weekend in Manchester as a student and we thought it would be a good idea to go out for dinner on the Saturday evening. Unbeknown to me of what was to come later that evening, I threw some clothes on and headed to Simple Bar and Kitchen, in Manchester's Northern Quarter, for a bite to eat. After a filling main and a couple cocktails, the Boy convinced me to head to Walrus, also in the Northern Quarter, for some more drinks. As I walked into the the bar, I was startled by a big "SURPRISE".
Sitting in a booth by the door were some of the most amazing friends I have made in this city and they were all there to celebrate my
faux birthday. I had never had a surprise party and to think that they had been planning it for a while without me having a clue brought me to tears.
As well as thanking my awesome homies for a great night and the drinkage that ensued, I would like to give a special shout out to the Boy for coming up with the idea and to Lola for taking the reins.
After lots of cocktails and several glasses of champagne, at just 11/12pm, it was time for me to call it a
n early night. I got home, slumped to my bed and fell asleep with the thought that I am lucky to have made friend's for life during my time at university.
