Ankara Trousers

Top/Thrifted; Jewellery/Primark; Shoes/Primark

Can you believe these trousers originally belonged to the boy?!?

Last time he was in Nigeria, he asked his tailor to sew him a couple of trousers from some Ankara (African fabric) he had. Unfortunately for him, something got lost in translation and the tailor ended up making both trousers three-quarter length.

So there was little else he could do but give them to his 5ft3 girlfriend (ME!). A combination of the boy's slim frame and the elasticated waistband meant that both trousers actually fit quite well. After a bit of DIY to the hemline, they were ready to wear.

I wore this pair to my cousin's 18th birthday party a week ago. I absolutely adore the print of this one and think I might just be able to get away with wearing them to hospital as long as I stick to a black top and lose the chunky necklace.

But i am seriously in love with that necklace as i have been obsessed with everything 'holographic' lately and you've just styled those trousers so well! If only we all had boyfriends to give us their ankara trousers!
