Swimwear365 is an online store dedicated to bringing the very best of sunny holiday fashion all year round. So whether you are planning a cheeky exotic escape in the dead of winter or have booked the perfect lazy beach trip in the height of summer, this site caters to your every need.  The company is currently hosting a competition on their blog to win a spa day for two at Bannatynes spa so naturally we sneaked in our entry quickly before the tomorrow's deadline

(Fikki)
We chose to create a collage on tropical prints, one of the key trends Swimwear365 are showcasing this season. Since Lola is off to the Caribbean this summer and I'm currently planning my epic medical electives to SE Asia in early 2014 (a long way away I know), we thought it best to showcase the items we would both love to wear on our trips to these tropical and exotic locations.

This trend is all about exotic prints and vivid colours. Think palm trees, sunsets and florals! I could easily picture myself lounging on the beach in the sunset swimsuit, exploring a tropical jungle in the denim shorts or drinking at the beach/pool side bar in either of those dresses. Perfection!

Whether you're heading away or having an English summer, check out Swimwear365 for awesome pieces!

Mismatched Florals

Coat/H&M; Skirt & Top/Primark

I wore this to lunch the other day as I currently have a thing for mismatched prints. I've had both these items since 1st year (currently in 5th year) and like many old items in my wardrobe, I only wear them when I have no other idea what to wear. The good thing about floral prints is that they are on trend during virtually every spring/summer; which makes an 5 year old outfit still awesome in 2013.

Floral & Mustard

Trousers/H&M; Top & Bag/Local Charity Shop; Flats/Primark

Okay, so I caved in, abandoned my revision and left my house. It has been so sunny and with the Great Manchester Run on today, I could see all the fun people were having from my balcony so I went on an impromptu walk and drinks at Revolucion De Cuba with my flatmate. It was just what I need to clear my head. Now, back to the books!

Lust List #7 Summer Print

Rose Print Dress - Glamorous

Currently stuck indoors revising for my exams in 2 weeks while everyone else enjoys the sunny bank holiday which is quite depressing. All I want to do is wear one of these pretty dresses and sit in the sun but with the huge amount of work I have to endure I can only dream of my trip to the Caribbean in August.

When summer comes around, I'm always excited to see what summery prints on day dresses the high street and online stores have. All I have been thinking about are all the different occasions I will need day dresses for this summer. The two dresses in the middle are just the perfect style to wear to for lunch with strappy sandals. The rose print on the Glamorous dress really caught my eye and hopefully you should be able to see how I style it soon! The Oh My Love dress makes for a great beach dress, plus its currently on sale for £12. The shape of the hem and the slit down the side of the ASOS dress gives it that extra something that makes it anything but plain and unassuming.

Anyone going anywhere nice this summer?

The Wild Side

Shirt/Thrifted; Skirt/Primark

This is my 'I am spending the whole day in the library' outfit. My life currently consists of trying to retain a ridiculous amount of information for my exam which I frankly think is currently impossible. Either that or I just left it too late. Fikki and I spent the weekend hanging out with friends who were visiting in Manchester, eating out and partying so I am currently in stress mode. 3 weeks left before I have a week of rest.

A Little Thank You #2....Manchester Fashion Week Blogger Gift Box

This post is way overdue because we lost the SD card with these pictures on it and only recently found it. Anyway, when Fikki and I attended the MCRFW blogger meet up, we were treated with a second blogger gift box with new products to try out. You can see what we got in the first box here. (Really loving reviewing products so might continue to do this everyone once in awhile)

The treats:

I have a new found love for Jelly Beans after my house-mate and I made up a new game which we called jelly baby roulette. There are so many flavours that we try out so the aim of the 'game' was to randomly pick a flavour and try to guess correctly what it was. The best was peach and the worst was  The firefly drink was so yummy and made me feel like human gain after a big night out with friends.

Now on to the products:

My hands are always so dry and it can get quite painful so I love trying out new brands and always have hand lotion in every room of the house so getting this to try out was great was great. I have not heard of the brand previous to this but from what I heard their products are great. The packaging is really pretty and can easily make a nice gift. The lotion itself was really soft and the really lovely scent of lavender is lush. If you don't like lavender then this probably is not for you but it you love it, definitely go for this product. I use it all the time so it's definitely doing something right.

A voucher for a complementary facial at skin health spa which we are really looking forward to using. I have an appointment on Wednesday and Fikki has booked her's for next week Tuesday. Look out for a post about our experience there.

Tanatomicals Tan Mousee
For obvious reasons, we did not use this product. I can understand why it was in the box because I'm sure all the other mcrfw girls love it. I gave my bottle to my flatmate to use so sadly I cannot comment on how we found it.

Although, Manchester Fashion Week has been postponed for the time being which is quite sad, we are still looking forward to the week and how amazing it's going to be. To see updates and news, check out the Manchester Fashion Week website.

Bird Print

Club L Pencil Skirt/Get The Label; Shirt/Primark; Jacket/Diesel; Rings/Thriftette, Topshop

I used the giftcard the lovely people from Get The Label gave us when we went to their event two weeks ago and bought myself this skirt. I also got a beaded sheer Glamorous top and a Pop Art summer dress which I can't wait to show you guys. I really wanted a nice midi skirt that is not black for our non existent spring. The print is really simple and makes a great casual look plus it was only £9, can't go wrong.

Mohair Orange

Jumper/Cow Vintage; Skirt/H&M; Top/Vintage; Necklace/Forever21

The running of the pink colour into the purple at the front of this cardigan is testament to how much I love it. Ever since i bought it in Cow Vintage in Manchester a couple years ago, this cardigan has been a staple of mine. When its cold and i'm quickly popping out somewhere, it's my go-to item. One evening, the boy asked if i owned any other cardigans because once again I wore it on a visit to his house. For a brief moment I considered replacing it with a new one but then wore it a few days later to hospital. So I guess it will remain a wardrobe favourite (even though it's getting a bit tatty...my mum would be so disappointed)...but i suppose that shouldn't stop me from seeing what could replace it.

Get The Label Event

(Lola)
Last week, Fikki and I headed down to 2022NQ in the Northern Quarter for the Get The Label Urban Blogger party. Get the Label are an on-line clothing website that stock well known labels such as Lipsy, Glamorous, Vero Moda, Firetrap, Nike and AX Paris for up to 75% off. We arrived on time just after 4pm to champagne and lots of yummy food. There was lots for us to do on the evening including a style challenge, a graffiti doodle wall to get all artsy on and a blog brag for their website which was a great experience but in hindsight was cringe worthy because I know I sound bad on camera. Lets just say there is a reason why we don't do youtube videos. We were also let loose on the clothes rails to choose our favourite pieces for reviews later.

Printed Trousers

Trouser/H&M; Top/Primark

Sometimes I wonder what exactly is appropriate medical student/doctor attire. This is mainly because when i'm in clinic/ on the wards in my printed trousers or bright coloured top, everyone around me is either in uniform or quite generic muted clothes. Sometimes I even have the boy questioning whether I plan on wearing that dress/skirt/jumper etc to hospital.

I seem to have no concept on what is "suitable". I don't exactly wear low cut tops or short skirts but I suppose it's not the norm to see a doctor in a leopard print dress or a fluorescent green jumper. I would probably find it easier if we were forced to wear scrubs all the time or a suit but each morning I have to find the balance between comfort, practicality and style.

Anyways, I these printed trousers the other day to hospital. I have about 10 pairs now (mostly from H&M) and since I spend 85% of my waking life in hospital, it would be a shame not to ever wear them there. I just finished a rotation on rheumatology and it was the most chilled experience ever. It has definitely gone up on my list of future specialities. They have about 3/4 patients in hospital at a time compared to the 30 in other more intense specialities...easy living!

Tapestry Jacket

Jacket/Primark; Top/Random Store; Riding Pants/H&M; Sandals/Primark

Spring is finally properly here, the sun is out, I can put away my winter coat and I can finally wear some nice sandals. The weather is definitely making me very happy despite being stuck indoors all day and just too busy to enjoy it. At least yesterday, I took time off to attend the Get The Label event...more on that later.

Way back in December, while Fikki and I were browsing through Primark we saw this tapestry jacket retailing at the time for about £30 which we just dismissed as ridiculously overpriced for Primark. Skip to two months or so ago, we spot the same jacket now on sale for £10 - and duly grabbed one each. I guess everyone else thought the same as we did - too expensive at its original price. It's such a pretty jacket and I'm even surprised myself at how luxe it looks. It looks great teamed with a simple look - my standard riding pants for this look and previously wore it with a black lace dress. I'm looking forward to see how Fikki styles it when she eventually wears hers.

Similar styles can be found at at New Look (Cream Tapestry Jacket) and Misguided (Tapestry Leather Biker)

Stella & Dot Jewellery

A while back, I attended an event for jewellery brand, Stella and Dot. Although jewellery is not the top of my priority list when it comes to dressing up, I do appreciate a great statement piece as I'm sure everyone else does which Stella and Dot do perfectly. The brand make stylish costume jewellery that are on trend and modern. Although on a higher price scale, it is well made, beautiful and look so stunning on. My favourite pieces were definitely the bold chain and cuff in the third picture and I currently have it on my 'I really really want that' list.

Not only do they sell the jewellery on the site, but they also have stylists who are are able to host trunk shows and parties for various events. My tutor at Law school is a stylist for Stella & Dot which is how I was introduced to the brand after seeing her come in to teach wearing these amazing pieces especially the arm candy. Although quite unusual to see a brand have a greater involvement in the purchase process, It does seem like a great idea to have the stylists giving talks and hosting trunk shows for parties as an extra service. I guess that little extra touch makes a difference!

Have you guys heard of Stella & Dot? What do you think of their jewellery?
