Two weeks ago, Fikki and I were invited to the Private White V.C. Autumn Winter launch. We were picked up outside Kosmonaut bar in the Northern Quarter in a vintage bus to the factory just on the outskirts of the Manchester city centre. Whilst there, we saw the brand's pieces on the shop situated on the ground whilst also having the opportunity to see the manufacturing process as the garment makers were busy working away.
If you are new to the brand, Private white V.C. Is a British luxury menswear band made in Manchester. In a time where manufacturing is largely outsourced, it was great to see up close one of the last remaining clothing manufacturers in the UK. The brand is largely influenced by Private Jack White, the brands namesake and former owner of the factory with handmade men's jackets and coats based on military pieces in classic pea coat, bridge coat and bomber jacket shapes. These have all been updated for the modern man whilst retaining its classic and timeless charm. The brand has also branched into women's wear for their AW14 collection with coats and jackets. I had my eye on the Grey Herringbone Wool Coat. Private White V.C. Are definitely the sort of brand that make each piece with expertise and price.
