Travel | Ibis Style, Liverpool #CaptureIbisStyle

We were both recently invited to Liverpool to take part in the Capture Ibis Styles game and stay at the Ibis Style hotel on Dale Street. This was to showcase the hotel's unique style, decor and design.

The Decor

The Food

The Game

Ibis Style is part of the Ibis family made of up Hotel Ibis, Ibis Budget and Ibis Style of course. Whilst Hotel Ibis and Ibis Budget were known to us, the Ibis Style brand was introduced to us that weekend. Ibis Styles currently have 9 locations in the UK and 250 worldwide with aims to expand in the UK. The Styles brand focuses on making the hotel experience functional whilst keeping modernity and design at the core.

Each location has its story to tell and the mood differs from city to city. Although quite unusual, the hotel has been branded to give each location character through its design. The Liverpool Ibis Styles hotel which is about a 12 minutes walk from Liverpool Lime Station (according to my iPhone) is all about the Beatles! Each floor has the rooms decorated to remind you of the iconic fab four and their music. From an image of the fab four across the poster of the bed to strawberry fields and Lucy in the sky with diamonds. The hotel decor was just so inviting and I could really see some of the pieces fitting so well in our home.

When we arrived, we quickly checked into the hotel and had a quick introduction on the interactive screen in the lobby. We then quickly got changed and went back down for dinner with the other bloggers who were also attending including the lovely Frances from Frances Cassandra. There was a lot of good food, which was pleasantly surprising! From our experience of mid tiered hotels, this was probably the best food we have had. After chatting away with the bloggers and organisers, we both retired up to bed. I can definitely say it was the best night of sleep I have had in awhile. It was particularly quiet in the room and I slept like a baby until the morning. My only criticism of the rooms was that the charging points were not near the bed. For phone obsessives like us, we could not have our phones right by us. But I guess we all need a break from our phones every now and again! and it meant sleep was completely undisturbed.

In the morning, after a lush breakfast, we began the game behind the campaign. The game itself was all on instagram, with the object being to take imaginative and fun pictures of the hotel and Liverpool. The first part involved us taking images in the hotel which we believed captured the hotel. The later part of the game started on an amazing Liverpool tour bus. It was a strangely sunny day so it was nice sitting on the open top bus and learning all about the city. We then stopped at various parts of the city taking pictures relating to questions we were giving with prizes up for grabs. It was a fun game and such an amazing way to see the whole city. It got us to really appreciate the beauty of Liverpool. We then went back to the hotel for lunch to announce the winners and enjoy a spot of lunch before leaving. Fikki ended up winning most late on the bus which was quite hilarious!

A public game will be launched on 13 March which will allow you win the designer furniture in the hotel like the dog lamp and cassette table! We certainly have our eye on the dog lamp.
