Puffa is a brand that I was not familiar with so when Fikki and I were invited to the showcase of their AW14 men and women collection last month, I was eager to see what the brand was all about. Unfortunately, Fikki was away in New York at the time so I popped down on my own and met up with other lovely Manchester bloggers. The launch was held in the Hip Hop Chip Shop in Spinningfields, the Left bank area, which I am very suprised to see built up and running from what was formerly a derelict area.
Although I was not familiar with Puffa, it proved to be quite the iconic brand from my research. Think Moncler. Billing itself as the original duvet clothing company, the brand is a clash of streetwear and comfort. It has sporty elements mixed with British heritage whilst keeping in feminine elements for the women's collection. The problem with clothing such as this is the impression that it may look frumpy and remove all flattering lines from the body. However, I believe it does add elements of layers and a different aesthetic that alines with the sporty look. It certainly looked great on the girls at the launch. The brand's clothing was worn by the Royal Family and launched Jodie Kidd's modelling career with a campaign in 1996. In that campaign, Jodie Kidd was wearing the silver bomber seen in the pictures above. Definitely left wanting one of those, and Windsor bomber which is in a deep wine shade.
