Eat.Live.Wander || #2

Another week gone!

EAT
[Fikki] Christmas arrived early at Ning restaurant in Manchester. Got the chance to sample their christmas menu which will be available to diners this December. Despite the fact that I have been to quite a few of these types of events now, after years of blogging, i still end up over eating during the first course. This leaves little to no room by the main course and leaves me feeling round by the end of the night. Before christmas actually comes, I need to re-find my way to pure gym

LIVE
[Lola] I had a week off before I start my new PR job in London so I've been using this period as a nice time to catch up on tv series, movies and new music. Two albums have so far really impressed me - A Seat At The Table by Solange and Cloak by Jordan Rakei. Solange has already received rave reviews for her look into what it is like to be a black woman and I find myself being empowered by songs like FUBU and Don't Touch My Hair.

[Fikki] Life at the moment (prior to my eminent holiday) is all about studying. As a doctor in training I have a number of exams that i NEED to sit in order to progress through my career. I am currently preparing for the second part of these exams. So my days last week mostly consisted of a 9 hour shift at work followed by a minimum of 3 hours of studying at home. #medicineoverload!

WANDER
[Fikki] I went down with the boy to visit his uncle in Reading over the weekend and it was a bit of a family reunion with his mum, other cousins and sister all making the trip down on the Saturday. The time we spent there made me remember that it is always worth making the effort and journey to see loved ones. The time you spend with them is invaluable.

[Lola] Being back in London has already been quite fun and there are so many places I want to visit. Hence my new self improvement weekends where I find a new museum, area or attraction in London to scope out. The Mr Hyde newsletter has been particularly very good for recommending a whole host of activities and restaurants to try out. The newsletter is a daily compilation from the people at Shortlist which provides recommendations, reviews and everything else you would not initially think of so try it out and sign up.
